If you’re a driver in St. Louis, it’s time to start thinking about how you can get your card ready for spring and summer driving. After the long, cold winter, your car needs some attention, to make sure it’s ready to take on the hot, sunny summer days ahead. Here at Green Light Auto Credit we’re happy to offer some tips to help get your car ready for the road ahead.
Be Ready For Summer
Follow our advice, and you’ll have a spring and summer of safe and convenient driving.
- Check Your Tires: As the temperature changes, so does the pressure in your tires. Make sure you check your tires regularly during the changing seasons, to make sure they’re filled to the appropriate level. You might have to let air out as the mercury rises.
- Wash Your Car: You need to get rid of that road salt and any de-icer chemicals used on the roadways. Go to a carwash that can wash the undercarriage of your car, or use a hose or lawn sprinkler to clean off the underbody of your vehicle.
- Treat Your Windshield: A clean windshield helps you see better, and if you treat your windshield with a rain repellent water will bead up and roll off more easily.
- Oil and Oil Filter Changes: Is your vehicle due for its next oil change? This is as good a time as any to make sure you’ve got fresh lubricant in your engine, as hot summer months are particularly challenging.
- Check The AC: You don’t want to get caught in the summer months without air conditioning. Have your mechanic take a look.
- Cooling System: While the engine’s cooling system can take it easy during the winter, it must be functioning appropriately in the summer. Make sure you’ve got enough coolant and that the system is working well before it gets hot.
